OK, everyone, this weekends full moon is going to be the BIGGEST in years! So, be sure to get your camera out and hope that there's no cloud cover!
Tonight's (Saturday's) moon is called a "super perigee moon", which is ever rarer than a "blue moon". A super perigee moon is about 31,000 miles closer than when the moon is at it's furthest distance from the earth and they are about 14% bigger and 30% brighter than moons other than perigee moons.
I'll be getting my camera out, that's for sure...because the next time this moon appears will be in 2029, and I'm not sure if my camera will make it that long...
